New Shift.

My new shift started this week, so far I have survived staying awake past 8:30 Pm. That in its self is a huge accomplishment. I say this because I am truly a morning person by that I mean 3:30 am wake up time to hit the gym and may I add no alarm clock needed! Yes, I am an early bird (coo coo bird I might add) and I truly love it! All was great until this past Monday when the screws in my head came loose and decided to work evenings. I am now a night owl not by personal choice but more by family demand. Daycare is ridiculously expensive and this is the smart choice for our family to save money, spend time with the kids, and still have health benefits. With all that said the first forty eight hours I felt like I was in a fog and out of my element. Today I felt tired but definitely out of that foggy state I was in. What are the positive and negative things that can come from this change. First I will start with the negative things and there is one big one that has me worried. My husband and I will not see each other much during the week. He will be leaving our home by 7am and back by 4:25 Pm so I can be at work by 5PM. I will miss our dinners together for sure. Now, the good news about my schedule change is that I get to be with my son Gavin and daughter Alaina. Other positives are that my house is clean; also my laundry room never looked more spacious. I just hope that we made the right choice for our family and that positive things will follow because of it.
